The SOS Signal

The SOS Signal A patterned knocking emerges from the house after radio contact with Holloway Roberts’s team fails. Emergency Communication The signal links the family to the missing explorers while also echoing the film’s visual rhythm. Moral Pressure Will Navidson can no longer wait for authorities or remain outside the danger.

The Descent

The Descent Will Navidson, Billy Reston, and Tom Navidson enter the house to search for the missing team. Divided Roles Tom Navidson remains near the Spiral Staircase while Will Navidson and Billy Reston proceed deeper. Shared Risk The rescue restores family cooperation but makes every relationship vulnerable to the house.

Jed’s Death

Jed’s Death Will Navidson and Billy Reston find Jed Leeder with Kirby “Wax” Hook after Holloway Roberts has shot them. Brief Relief Jed initially reacts with laughter and sobs when he sees rescuers. Sudden Execution A bullet kills him almost immediately, turning rescue into another scene of helpless witnessing.

The Broken Rope

The Broken Rope Billy Reston and Kirby “Wax” Hook are raised toward safety while the house stretches the Spiral Staircase. Mechanical Rescue Rope, pulley, and wheelchair briefly impose human order on impossible space. Separation The rope snaps before Will Navidson can return, leaving him below and alone.

The Lost Tom

The Lost Tom Tom Navidson carries Daisy Navidson toward a window while the house convulses around them. Final Protection He reaches Daisy to Will Navidson but cannot escape the shifting floor himself. Brotherly Rupture His disappearance converts the rescue into a permanent wound for Will Navidson.
